Don't let the youthful face fool you. Donia Kitsmiller has been behind the chair for more than 20 years, and she has fine hair of her own, which is why she takes it personally when somebody tells you what your hair can't do.

Her Breath
When she's not behind the chair, Donia is usually traveling or in the water. She freedives, the kind where you go down on one breath and come back up grinning, and her clients call her an underwater fairy. Ask her how long she can hold it and you'll get the same lit up face she brings to a balayage.
It's not unrelated. Freediving is patience and staying calm while you take your time, and so is getting a shape right or bringing color back from somewhere it shouldn't have gone.
